Madrid, 17 of February, 2025 – Denodo, a global leader in data management, celebrated its 25th anniversary in Guangzhou, China last week coupled with the annual company retreat that saw over 600 employees come together from around the world. This significant milestone recognizes Denodo’s evolution over the years from a data virtualization company to a leading provider of data management technology in the age of AI.
In 2024, CEO and founder, Ángel Viña hosted Minister Li Qiang at the company’s Madrid offices to explore how Denodo’s unique technology could help Chinese businesses on their data and AI journeys - businesses like BAIC and Seres who are undergoing their own data and AI modernizations. Viña also accompanied Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez to China for a Spanish-Chinese economic delegation aimed at strengthening the strategic relationship between the two countries.
This year, Guangzhou served as the backdrop for the anniversary celebrations where dignitaries like Sun Zhiyang, Mayor of Guangzhou; Guo Yonghang, Party Secretary of Guangzhou; and, Marta Betanzos Roig, the Spanish Ambassador to China met and paid tribute to 25 years of Denodo innovation.
The selection of Guangzhou was deliberate as a location as it is a symbol of ambition, resilience, and innovation—a city that embodies Denodo’s values. Additionally, China is a key market where Denodo has strong relationships with customers, government officials and partners and is committed to strengthening and deepening them.

The week-long celebrations ended with a visit to the famous Canton Tower and Liede Bridge, where attendees enjoyed spectacular Denodo-branded light displays in honour of the company’s 25th anniversary.
In the future, Denodo plans to host more industry summits and events in Guangzhou, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai, continuously driving innovation and development in data management technology.
